Arun Narasimhan is a recognized Cybersecurity and Internet of Things(IoT) expert with over a decade of experience working at companies like Google & Microsoft. As a Senior Software Engineer and Tech Lead Manager, he spearheaded the development of anti-spam and anti-abuse solutions for Google Messages, safeguarding billions of users. He had built security solutions for large scale IoT platforms at Google Nest in collaboration with ADT, which won the CES 2023 Innovation Award. Currently, he chairs the IoT committee at M3AAWG, an industry consortium combating online threats like bots, malware, and DoS attacks. Narasimhan's expertise lies in leveraging cutting-edge technologies, including generative AI and large language models, to create innovative user experiences and enhance security across platforms. He holds a Masters degree in Computer Science from Georgia Tech, USA.

Volunteered and built a project to help doctors remotely monitor patients in hospitals during peak COVID in 2020. I specifically built a critical security feature to keep video streams on premise.

Google Assistant Voice Typing
Wrote the technical roadmap for Generative AI features for Google Assistant Voice Typing.
Nest's Device Access program
I was the Tech Lead for the Device Access program, which allows 3rd party apps to integrate with Google Devices. Built this end to end from requirements gathering to launch and maintenance. Led a team of engineers, designers, xfn. Innovations included a novel trait based API schema to allow for granular permission sharing at device feature level, which laid the foundation for Matter, which is a technical standard for Smart Home and IoT. Launched to thousands of partner apps like Alexa, Samsung Smart Things, Vivint, etc.
